Warming the Heart

Don't think that it's love,
My creeping closer to you
It's your warmth I need

Fall has fallen with a cold, hard thud in our world, but for some strange and annoying unreasonable reason, the humom refused to turn up the heat. I think what finally got her moving was the day Sushi, Sashimi and I all tried to crawl into her lap as she worked at the computer. Normally, I wouldn't dream of getting so close to the interlopers (this is MY house, ladies), but I'm nearly certain icicles were beginning to form, if not on my whiskers, at least in my heart.

Today, finally, she brought up my wintertime companion from the basement, and I've spent the afternoon celebrating, toasty warm by its side.

The humom calls it a portable space heater. I call it beautiful.
