Humom Has a Theory

Sleep has gone away
The humom has a theory
So what if it's true?

Sleep has gone away from the humom, which is her problem, not mine, and she's had that problem for as long as I've known her. But her tossing and turning gets irritating after our initial settling in for the evening, so I usually have to hop down off the bed and patrol the food dishes while she exhausts herself. It's annoying.

The humom has a theory she came up with a long time ago. I've heard her talking with a friend about it, about things humans aren't supposed to know: she believes that every house has a certain allotment of sleep, based upon the number of creatures living there. If one creature sleeps too much, the others are left with less available sleep.

So what if it's true? I'm not saying she's right. But even if she is, does that justify waking me up every time she wants to get up off the couch for a cup of tea during what should be an evening of snoozing in front of the computer? And really, if the sleep all comes with the house, isn't it mine to do with as I please?
